Welcome to my website! My name is Sean Daylor, and I am a sophomore at the University of Rhode Island studying for a BS in Computer Science and a BA in Data Science, with minors in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security, where I also work for the College of Environmental and Life Sciences developing computational tools to assist in molecular biology research. I began my career and passion for software development back in middle school, when I first took a course in web design, and have since significantly expanded my knowledge and expertise, and am constantly seeking out new opportunities. I encourage you to peruse my site and welcome feedback.
Graduated in the top 10% of my class while also partaking in wrestling and the Business, Robotics, and Computer clubs. For my senior project I re-developed the school's website.
At the University of Rhode Island I am studying for a BS in Computer Science and a BA in Data Science in addition to minors in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security.
The Division of Student Affairs hired me as a freshman to create mobile/desktop software and websites for the Division. I also develop and maintain the University Campus Store's e-Commerce websites.
This website is hosted on a DigitalOcean Ubuntu 16.04 VPS. I configured it for Apache Virtual Hosts, security (SSL/SFTP, mod_headers, etc), DNS records, and much more. I also freelance and have taken to pentesting for bug bounty contributions (Snapchat, Apple, Pandora).
I volunteer my time to instruct both adolescent and adult classes on 3D printing and modeling using Google's SketchUp paired with MakerBot hardware.
In March of 2018 I was hired by the College of Environmental and Life Sciences at the University of Rhode Island to develop computational tools to assist in molecular biology research, specifically contributing to and maintaining PSAMM. A gameified interactive metabolic model web application is in development using Node.js to serve as an educational tool.
First of all, I love running, that is, until the runner's high wears off. I spend time outdoors whenever I can, whether it be hiking with friends, relaxing or fishing on my boat, or even just reading a book or listening to music on the beach. But most importantly, I live for learning, which is one of the reasons I love the tech industry: the learning never ends.
Sean never commits himself half way, he always dedicates 100% of himself to his work. He always works to better himself to make a greater contribution to the team. He strives to create and build the best systems and applications that he can, never cutting corners and always seeking to learn new skills to imporve those designs. Needless to say, it was my pleasure to have been able to employ him and I look forward to seeing what he goes on to accomplish in the future. Alexander Ali

I have found Sean to be very personable, helpful and flexible with both the staff and the public. He allows for independent work and exploration of the student while also being approachable and mindful of supervision and needed guidance. Sean is a pleasure to work with. I value his opinion on all things technical, and the Jamestown community benefits from his participation in library services. I highly recommended him for any position or challenge he would take on. Donna Fogarty
Jamestown Philomenian Library Director
I have had the privilege of knowing Sean for over a decade. He is, without a doubt, the most professional, most knowledgeable, and most engaging person I have ever encountered in this field of work. I strongly recommend Sean to anyone looking to expand a company profile, or being an entity into the 21st Century. Zachary Lynch
